We're even. I also had a terror phone bill incident. I had a house full of English backpackers. (I was like a hostel - a place in my house was much-coveted and when a traveller left, they'd pass their bed onto a mate.) I loved them, they were great fun, but someone racked up a huge phone bill with calls to London and I got into debt and a bad credit rating becasue my name was on the bill and they were back home. It was about $500 worth. I don't miss share houses either.Arielhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17570339715916432947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33579237.post-21176661991260320172008-03-30T18:59:00.000+11:002008-03-30T18:59:00.000+11:00Hey I also had a housemate who left in the middle ...Hey I also had a housemate who left in the middle on the night. She had only paid two weeks' rent - no bond - and she had run up $280 in phone bills to London and had left the electric fan heater running non-stop for 10 days straight while she sat in front of it. (She quit her job the day after she moved in).

For months afterwards we kept getting letters from other places where she also owed money.

Ahh... group houses. Can't say that I miss them.cristyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10438841050844456591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33579237.post-4387690206883931532008-03-29T21:51:00.000+11:002008-03-29T21:51:00.000+11:00There used to be a socialite called Rebel Penfold-...There used to be a socialite called Rebel Penfold-Russell who was in the (natch) social pages a lot back in the day, her mum might have been an admirer.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33579237.post-7548088829343903192008-03-29T15:13:00.000+11:002008-03-29T15:13:00.000+11:00No, no no ... I'm sure this wouldn't happen to anyone else!

You're probably right (though I have met one other Rebel in my life, also a bit nuts), but for once I don't care. If she by some odd chance reads this and feels embarassed or annoyed, then sucks to her. As I say, she never paid those bills or the rent gap.Arielhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17570339715916432947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33579237.post-79612782279626645592008-03-29T14:53:00.000+11:002008-03-29T14:53:00.000+11:00There may not be very many of them around, A. Poor thing.)
I have someone moving out next week, I do hope this is not a harbinger of adventures to come >:-)genevievehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02895689949182365454noreply@blogger.com
